Entrepreneurship: Not for the Faint Heart
Updated: Mar 11, 2021
"Cheers to the year of 'Just doing it!' "

Entrepreneurship has seen a major uptick in the past decade, thanks to millennials paving the way with their “work smarter, not harder" mentality.
Back in the day, calling someone an “entrepreneur” used to be an endearing way of saying they didn’t have a job. But the truth is, if you’re an entrepreneur, you have many jobs. On any given day, you’re the CEO, Human Resources, Customer Service, Creative Director, or the janitor.
Anyone who has ever started a business of their own knows this to be true. The journey is hardly linear, but I can say from experience, the reward is worth the ups and downs.
Brittany and I met a couple years ago at a mutual friend’s house and became instant friends. When the pandemic hit, we took a long look at what really matters and decided to make a career shift. We leaned into our mutual passion and talent for design, and Elevated Spaces was born.
Elevated Spaces is a lifestyle brand that encourages you to…well, elevate your space. Although our business is anchored in interior design, the options don’t end there. Whether you’re looking to upgrade your living space, your office, an event you’re hosting, or even your mental space, Elevated Spaces is a place to grow and thrive. (Mental space?Did I throw you off there? If you don’t think your surroundings affect your mental health, then you need this blog more than you thought you did!)
So many successful businesses were created in an unfavorable economy — think Netflix, Airbnb, Warby Parker, Sports Illustrated, and more! When you’re following your passion, you can’t go wrong. Find a mentor, read how others did it and then add your own secret sauce. The resources are endless, and so are the possibilities.
This is just a humble beginning and we hope you enjoy the journey with us. There is no blueprint to what we are doing, but we’ll be sure to document the twists and turns. Stay tuned — it’s gonna get real!
